Teeth

These are a few of my favorite things...brushing teeth. We have to limit the boys or they would brush their teeth all day long. They brush and even spit. They love that they are aloud to spit in the sink. Say a quick pray. Dad is on boy duty this week. I am at camp with Junior campers (2nd -6th grade). I am officially the craft lady and may have devotions.

Entertainment

One great form of entertainment is sticker books. Grandpop keeps us supplied and mom attempts to keep the stickers contained to the books. Andrew's book is cool because the stickers are numbered so it has been a good exercise in counting. It also has everyday things so we use it to help Andrew learn new words.
Other cheap forms of entertainment at our house including cutting mushrooms(no knives involved - egg slicers are great) and stirring and dumping to help cook. Mimi's swimming pool. The sandbox. Walking to see the llamas...yes up the road at the farm they have 3 llamas. Also going to see the cows and the water. Also racing Scott on his tractor as Andrew is on the tricycle. Grandpa's recording of the Disney playhouse. We cut the cable to save money and reduce our consumption. It works but it is nice to have a change of videos for Andrew. Also running around the house as fast as we can while mommy counts to see how fast. Yes mom is trying to burn some of their energy. Along with the school park, new park and church park these are some our ways of entertaining ourselves.

Talking about Adoptions

Well, Cousin Jill's visit at Aaron's birthday has provoked some questions from Andrew. All the adoption magazines have talked about 3-5 years asking where they came from and if they came from Mommy's belly. Well Andrew has begun to ask so it has opened a door to talk about his birthmom, Korean Oma(foster family) and his forever family. It is scary and fun to talk with him. We want to be honest with him but present it in a way that a four year old can understand. So it will be his story to tell. We love him very much and want him to be secure in who is and where he has come and who he will become.

Andrew and Uncle Gabe

Memorial Day weekend Gabe bravely volunteered to take Andrew canoeing with him. Andrew had loved his trip at Camp JOY but that was much shorter so mom wasn't sure Uncle Gabe would ever agree again but I am told that they had a greattime. So here are a couple pictures from the adventure. I heard that Andrew even paddled a little.

The Good and the Unga

Today Andrew got to go to the library for a special story time. During the winter they have a story time and just a little activity but in the summer if you are 3 or older they have a major story time that includes snacks and crafts. The only draw back is munchkins only two can't go. So Aunt Cindi kindly agreed to watch Aaron while I took Andrew to the library. Miss Becky and helpers bravely took on about 15 kids 4 years to 3rd grade. Andrew had a great time and mom was told she didn't need to stay so she didn't. So next time I can take Aaron and go run a errand. Andrew came out telling me about the story they read and excited about the craft he did. Aaron thought life was great with Aunt Cindi and all was good. Thanks Aunt Cindi. Did I mention libraries are great and they are free.

Second Good. I have started doing a little class time with Andrew each day just to test the waters and it is good for me. He seems to like it okay and he appears to be learning and it is good for mom to test her discipline in doing something daily. Aaron is coloring pages while brother has class. It isn't long but it seems to be going okay.

Finally the unga. We have had a little potty for Aaron for about four months. He looks at it occasionally tries to go potty but not a whole lot of progress. Now today he looked at me and said unga(Korean for bowel movement). We ran upstairs figuring he had already gone which is the usual case but no. He proceeded to sit on the toilet and unga. We celebrated with chocolate. He later asked to wear underwear. Mommy agreed. Aaron proceeded to wet his pants. You win some you lose some.

The Birthday Party

Well this is the official birthday post. We celebrated a day late but everyone seemed to have a good time. Aaron and Andrew covered themselves in cake and played with the icing. We enjoyed good eats and Jill was able to come too. She was up visiting Papa and Mama(Nana). This is the birthday cake. There is a little bakery in Woodbury now and they made and the cake was super moist and very good. I thought she did a nice job. The wind made candle blowing hard.
Here is Aaron opening presents with a little help from Andrew. Andrew did pretty well with it being Aaron's birthday. Andrew has to wait all the way until December for his. We did get one present that was for both of them.

It was a sandbox. So this is the first playing.

Overall a nice birthday.

Trip to Great Grandpa's

We had a great time visiting Great Grandpop and Grandma Lorna. We were there five days and Grandpa is probably still recovering. Andrew adds more energy to every day. We did get to make a couple visits to Grandma Lorna's though the boys were quite active. Andrew is still talking about riding in great grandpa's golf cart and going to the park. We enjoyed a patio picnic at Fairhaven and Aunt Cindi did a beautiful job singing. She also cleaned everything. Grandpa's house is now spotless. Andrew was able to meet a Korean family at the Milton church. The boys enjoyed swimming every night at the hotel and this tired them out and they slept in. Mom was happy. Aaron fell out of bed and I tired to pass out so that added to some adventures. We also went to a petting farm. The couple of picture of the cats are from there. When it was all said and done it was good trip and Great Grandpa will need a week to recover.

Dentist

June 1st we all went to the dentist. We didn't know how Andrew would do but he did great. He thinks the dentist is great because there are no pinches(shots) and you get a toothbrush and you are allowed to spit. Our dentist is in a little stone house so every stone house that we pass is the dentist. Here are a couple of pictures of the adventure.

Dress up Dinner

We had a small crowd for our dress up dinner with the youth but we had a great time anyway. We went to Outback and had a bloomin Onion. After good eats we enjoyed a movie via Netflixs on the big screen aka the sheet. Overall a great time. Miss Grace and Mr Eddie watched the boys. We appreciated it greatly.

Memorial Day Festivties

We had our Memorial Day adventures in the parents backyard. They included good eats and the boys going around the house with Grandpop's wheeled cart.

The boys even had their ouwn table.

Uncle Jim did the cooking honors and made steaks with his special sauce.
