Valentines and Vacations

Well Perry and I stayed in for Valentines. Perry even had to stay late at work but we still had a very nice Valentines. I had some extra time and some frozen sugar cookie dough so I made some Valentines cookies. This weekend Perry had a 3 day weekend. He has not had one in several months. So we took the opportunity to go visit some friends in Colombus. It is always fun to hang out and worship with friends. I must say though the weather looked shakey and we nearly canceled...okay we did cancel but we called back and uncanceled. Marissa is such a good sport. We had a late Valentine's dinner at Ruby Tuesday. And Friday night we got to Marrisa's house. Did I mention she is great host and good sport. We even got heart shaped waffles for breakfast Sabbath morning. We had a good time of worship and fellowship and Marrisa's parents feed us and several young adults lunch and supper too. Saturday night we hung out at Chris and Veronica's house and Lily's too. Lily is their adorable a little over a year old munchkin. Sunday we tried to avoid the thought of returning to work but decided that we need to be responsible. We came home in time to have Youth Fellowship. Overall a great weekend.

Cutting the Cable

Well Perry andI have decided to cut the cable. We decided that we watch to much TV. It will also help reduce the amount I watch with Aaron. At least that is the hope. We will get 1 station CBS. Yes we live in the middle of nowhere. However we are not going totally cold turkey. We have decided to do Netflixs. So if you have any movie suggestions...

I have succeeded in getting the pictures from the power point on this blog. I took pictures of the pictures so they are not as clear as they might be. But I hope you enjoy.

Dinner anyone?

On my husband

As Valentine's Day approaches I realize that I do not always appericate how wonderful my husband truly is. So I thought I would take a moment and wax sentimential about my Handsome. I think one of my favorite things about my husband is that he is kind and thoughtful and listens but he can't be pushed around or manipulated (at least not by me). I have learned to tell him what I think and let him chew on it. He is a man of discipline with devotions and work to be done. He knows how to laugh and I know it is him even when I am in the other room. This makes me smile. He does the little things that make my life better without complaining (laundry, emptying dishwashers and taking out trash). He is great with kids probably because he is one at heart. This helps his wife loosen up. I must brag on the fact that he begun being quite handy at putting things together. I really appericate this because I know it is not his favorite thing to do. Most of all thanks for loving God with your whole heart. I LOVE YOU.

Super Bowl

Not the greatest pictures but a good time was had I believe by all at our Super Bowl party. We provided he sandwiches and sodas and the youth provided the rest.
We borrowed the projector and were able to watch it on the big screen so to speak. It was made more fun with a divided as far as which team to cheer. So every play brought cheers and comment. Perry couldn't talk afterwards.

Leave it There

At church this week they sang a hymn I not ever heard or I never payed attention to but I really liked the words. It is called leave it there and it is by C. Albert Tindley

If the world from you withhold of its silver and its gold, And you have to get along with meager fare, Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird; Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

Refrain
Leave it there, leave it there, Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there. If you trust and never doubt, He will surely bring you out. Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

If your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain, And your soul is almost sinking in despair, Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save and He can heal; Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

Refrain

When your enemies assail and your heart begins to fail, Don’t forget that God in Heaven answers prayer; He will make a way for you and will lead you safely through. Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

Refrain

When your youthful days are gone and old age is stealing on, And your body bends beneath the weight of care; He will never leave you then, He’ll go with you to the end. Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.

Refrain

Good words for life when there is trouble. I like songs and hymns because they express for those of us who are not poetic what we feel but can't quite put into words.

Ice

Well we haven't had a lot of snow this year but today we have ice. It is fun for me who doesn't have to work. I get to enjoy it. This is a couple pictures from walking the dog. Tina had to be in most of the day yesterday. So even with the weather I thought she should still get a walk. It is turning to rain so the ice will soon be gone. Perry on the otherhand had to go to work and it took him twice as long. The schools are canceled.
