A few more birthday pictures

On Aaron's actual birthday June 12th we went low key. We tried a new Mexican Restaurant in Johnstown. Aaron had his two favorite foods and this is not stereotyping but it is refried beans and guacamole. We came home and celebrated with a food that grandpop has been promoting... ice cream. No it was not the meadows variety but it was okay. See Aaron's face.
The great grandparents came for Ice Cream and Strawberry Pie. The pie was made from our own strawberries.

Soo Sweet

This morning my husband sweetly took the 5:00AM shift with Aaron. Sometimes after Aaron's morning bottle he will fall back to sleep. This morning both Daddy and Aaron went back to sleep and they are still sleeping which will throw naps off but that is okay.

Aaron's First Swim

This is Aaron first swimming eperience which was during his trip to North Carolina. He loved the water and I ended up in the pool. He was much more interested in the big kids pool then the little one. The next day he went in with Grandpa Barbee clothes and all. He loved it.

A Big Weekend

This is last weekend not this weekend but I am slow posting. This is Rachel and as we speak she has graduated and has plans to go college. We had a wonderful party Saturday afternoon. Aaron got to have Grandma Barbee's fried chicken and potato salad. We also got to see lots cousins. Uncle Allen watched Aaron as he napped so he wouldn't roll off the couch.
Friday Perry's Mom had a huge first birthday party for Aaron. He was not sure about the cake thing. He did put his hand in the icing.

Early video game practice with Uncle Jonathan.
We had a great weekend and it was too short. We did a first...we drove through the night. This worked well for Aaron. I spent the weekend catching up. He did great on the way home. We stopped every 2 hours. I must say that I had said a little prayer before the first stop that there would be a place for Aaron to play. Aaron slept by the rest stop and Perry suggested that we try an exit where he knew there was gas. Well when we got gas we looked over the hill and there was the county park with new cedar chips and a beautiful playground. Thank you Lord for the small things in life.

Aaron's First Baseball Game

Last night we took Aaron to his first baseball game. We have a local minor league team and so we did a full night including the food and game. It rained before and after the game but was very nice for the actual game it was nice. The final score was 4 to 3 for Curve.
One of the mascots...Diesel Dawg. The team is the curve named after the Horseshoe Curve. SO the the mascots are named after train actives. The other mascot is Steamer a green smoke stack.

Another special part was that Grandpa Graffius was there with his brother Uncle Weston and his wife Carol. So there was 4 generations at the ball game. A very enjoyable evening Aaron stayed up past bedtime.

Memorial Day (Decoration Day)

I am slow but I am not totally late. The original Memorial Day was the 30th of May. It began after the Civil War. And with all that went on this weekend I did take sometime to reflect on the service of those in the military. Sometimes you think of other people serving or that is the army a blob of unknown people. But when I took a minute to think the number serving or have served is high. Both my grandfathers, grandma Lorna (nurse in WW2), my brother and my cousin Seth, these are only the immediate family. If I consider the extended family of second cousins, great uncles, etc. there are many. I encourage you to consider those who have served and are serving and say thank you. I am not sure that I could but I appreciate the freedom they protect. THANK YOU! Our weekend included visits from friends and family alike. This is Chris with his youngest Hannah. They took time out of their holiday to drive up to Pennsylvania. Thanks.
This is all three kids together. (Aaron, Ryan, and Hannah)
Aaron meets his great grandpa Graffius for the first time. Yes there was ice cream but it wasn't the Meadows.
We finally got to use our deck furniture. We had a picnic that included friends and family.
Tuesday was a big day for me. We left Aaron for the day with Abuela(this was a first). It made shopping easier but it did feel a little weird. Perry and I do clothing and shoe shopping once a year and this was the day. Aaron did great and I did fine. It was a nice day with my hubby.
