That brings me to these two items. I have joined a quilting class. It meets once a week and we do different projects. It is really cool to have someone to show me how to do things properly, to suggest what foot to use on the sewing machine and other people to talk to as well. The ladies range in age from my age to our teacher who is almost 70. It is fun to meet all different kinds of people and enjoy quilting while I am at it. I caused a bit of a tisey in my first class with my blue bunny but I think it turned out nice. The project in process is going to be bag/purse and I intend to make one in summer colors that is bigger. I will post the finished results. This is the first time I have used the sewing machine to do the quilting. I must admit it feels weird. The April project is to be a turning twenty quilt. Quilting Class
Some of you know that I attempt to quilt. I am self taught. So as a result my skills are sketchy at best, though I enjoy doing it. I must tell my story of beginning to quilt. My inspiration is Xena Lee Wheeler. When I was in college I would to go to church at the Wheeler's house. In their house Xena Lee almost always had a quilt in a quilt frame under construction. As a result I began to say when I have time I will learn to quilt. Well, Sam a few years ago removed all my excuses by giving me a beginner kit. As a result I made a quilt which Sam got. Each square taught a different skill. So that is how my quilting adventure began.

Resurrection Day Celebration and Reflection
We have had a full weekend as we have considered Christ's death and resurrection. Friday night we had communion and foot washing. We were reminded that no matter how far away or long ago our relationship with Christ began it was what He did for us that changed us. We were powerless, sinners, and enemies of God and it was through Christ death and resurrection we are now reconciled to Christ and not only that His Children. (The Pastor used Romans 5:6-11).
Sabbath morning we enjoyed a musical retelling of the Christ's death and resurrection. These pictures are not great but this is our choir. They work hard and try to bring glory to the Lord. It seems they are always being asked to sing. Also it snowed. Gabe said we awoke to be reminded of how God makes us whiter than snow.
This is Harley and Scott. They are dressed up and doesn't Scott look good in his new glasses.
Sunday morning on the spur of the moment Mom decided to have anyone who wanted to come over for Easter breakfast. My house has more space so the actual eating took place at my house. Mom pulled out grandpa's egg casserole recipe and I pulled out Beth Boyd's baked french toast recipe and we were ready to go. Both of these are make ahead items that sit overnight. So the pictures that follow are us eating. We also watched a video about the death of resurrection with a guy in the holy land. Getting us to think a little different about the events of Jesus' death and resurrection. All in all a good way to spend Easter morning.
Some of you may have heard Isaac say Piranha. Well this is the Piranha. It is a marble game and good entertainment. I suspect that this is the real reason Isaac will come visit me.

Good Weekend
Perry had another 3 day weekend. We had bibles, tracts and other items to deliver to the Washington DC church so we decided to visit Brandy and Paul at the same time. We enjoyed an good day of worship sabbath and Saturday night we played some Phase 10. Sunday morning we got to here Paul preach for the first time. I had never thought of Barabbas as a political person before. Once again we were reminded how different Jesus was from what people expected but that difference was part of God's perfect plan. We all must understand the price of our sin and that we are made new with Jesus' resurrection. That we to rise from our sin with Jesus Christ into new life. That evening, we enjoyed meeting with youth and Jasmine was in from college. It is always great to have her back in town. Overall a good weekend.

RECIPE
A week or so ago Ellen ask on her blog for recipes that use refried beans. Well I tried one yesterday that I really liked so I am going to pass it along. The only drawback is that there is cheese in it. For me this is great but for Ellen not so great. I suspect that this recipe could be made without it or with less cheese. This recipe is from Simple and Delicious
Chicken Tortilla Bake
1 lb or cubed chicken
1/2 tsp of cumin
1/4 tsp salt
1 TBL oil
1 can (16oz) refried beans
1 can (14.5oz) diced tomatoes and chilies drained
8 tortillas cut in 1 inch strips
1 can (11oz) mexicorn drained
2 cups shredded cheese
Preheat oven to 350. Saute chicken in oil salt and cumin. Grease11 x 7 pan. Combine beans and tomatoes. Spread 1/3 of the mixture on the bottom. place a 1/3 of tortilla strips on the bottom. Top with 1/3 of beans, 1/2 the corn, 1/2 the chicken, and 1/2 the cheese. Repeat. With remaining tortillas make or lattice or simply lay down the strips on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes of until warm through.
Notes
I hardly ever truly follow the recipe so here are some variation suggestions. Some of which I did.
*Use hamburger instead, no oil needed then
* Can't find Mexicorn use regular corn or frozen corn.
*I suspect you could go meatless without a problem
*If it is too spicy use plain diced tomatoes and no chillies or just a few that you add.
*As I mentioned earlier probably could reduce or eliminate the cheese - the moisture is in the tomatoes
* I ate with sour cream, Perry like it plain

Wallpaper Border
Well if nothing else cutting the cable along with me working less has allowed me to accomplish somethings that have been on the the TO DO list for a while. One of those things is putting up this wall paper border. I have had the border since we moved into the house. I believe that is atleast two years maybe 3 I am losing count. Anyways by no means is it perfect Perry has already found a bubble but for my first attempt with wallpaper I am quite happy. I would not have been able to the long strips without Perry holding it.
It really changes the look of the room.
